The Bailey Design Team works closely with many OEM's and companies of all sizes to help them utilize our cylinders in their equipment or application. Some of those applications include agricultural equipment, construction equipment, mining equipment, forestry equipment, industrial equipment, manufacturing equipment, trailers, food industry, auto-lifts, and position sensing applications. Our Bailey Design Team also works closely with our HPU (hydraulic power unit) customers to serve their needs by aiding them in the design of our custom hydraulic power units that are both electric motor driven and gasoline powered. Another integral function of our Design Team is to work closely with our manufacturing teams at the various Bailey locations. Working together from the initial concept phase through production delivery, these groups ensure our products are made with the highest quality materials available, utilize only the most appropriate manufacturing processes, and all of which are controlled via our stringent manufacturing process controls and high quality standards.
Our Design Team is comprised of highly talented individuals who have experience working with customers worldwide. We can adapt to any known standard required, such as SAE, DIN, ISO and more. Our collective work experience as a team consists of both formal training and certification in engineering and hydraulics, not to mention decades of applied work experience in the field of hydraulic cylinder design and specialized hydraulic applications. Our Design Team utilizes design tools such as solid modeling (3-D) CAD to decrease the design-to-production time, minimize design errors, and have the ability to share the end drawing with our customers for their internal technical needs. This process also enables us to utilize finite element analysis (FEA) software, which helps to ensure a quality design. Bailey designs hydraulic cylinders for numerous applications, such as the overseas shipping industry. Due to the extreme environmental conditions, cylinders used in this industry must meet the rigorous standards of international shipping bureaus such as the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Lloyd's Register of Shipping. These shipping bureaus require that the hydraulic cylinder be designed and documented to the highest level of detail. As it is required in manufacturing relationships such as this example, we have experience working with exacting requirements.
At Bailey, custom hydraulic cylinders are a vital component of our business, and we've designed our manufacturing and quality systems to ensure that we serve our customers with quality products that are produced promptly at competitive pricing. Our current capabilities allow the production of cylinders and components with bore sizes from 1.5" (38.1mm) to 21.65" (550 mm) and cylinders with strokes from .5" (12.7mm) to 23' (7,010.4mm). Our cylinders are designed from 100 PSI (6.89 bar) to 5,945 PSI (410 bar) operating ranges. We can incorporate load holding valves, linear position transducers, and a wide range of mounting options along with custom coating and packaging options. Custom Chief AC and DC hydraulic power units are available in a variety of flow and pressure combinations with a wide selection of reservoir, pump, and valve options that fit most applications. Gasoline engine Hydraulic power units are available up to 24 horsepower.
